Game Rules

Each player will be assigned a player wrist ‘tag’ when they enter the park and register to play.

All players divide into two equal teams ( or teams of two, three, four or more players per team for round robin games - if there are three or more teams, each attacking team will take turns attacking all other players grouped as one large defending team).

1.      The total area is broken in to four playing fields, which may be played in sequence, much like the holes on a golf course, or randomly based on player preference and/or availability.

2.       Each field consists of a starting gate (attacking team) at one end and a “flag” (defenders base) at the other end.

3.      To begin a game, all defending players take positions on the field while the attacking team waits at the starting gate. When the defenders are ready, one player from the defending team scans his tag at the scan point (flag). That player then has five seconds to get into position before the buzzer signals the start of the game.

4.       Any defending player who is hit is eliminated from the game* (see game variation below), and must proceed to the field exit (starting gate). Any attacking player who is hit must return to the starting gate, touch the net and then re-enter the game. Attacking players are never eliminated from play, regardless of how many times they are hit. Play continues until one of the attacking players can “capture the flag” (scan his tag at the scan point) while they are still ‘alive’. All players then move to the next field.

Game variation: Instead of being eliminated, defending players who are hit must return to the starting gate and then re-enter the game as a member of the attacking team.

5.       At the next field, the teams switch roles, i.e. the former attacking team now defends and the former defenders become the attackers, or, the next round robin team becomes the attackers.

6.       There are four fields in total, so if players switch roles and fields after each game, and start over again at field number one, that means that, after completing field number 4 the second time, each team will have been both defender and attacker on every field. The winning team for the match will be the attacking team with the fewest total time points accumulated. Scorecards are available at the front counter if you wish to track your team scores.

7.      The name of the defending player who activated the scan point to start each game is displayed on the game monitor next to the time elapsed for each game and each field, so if players wish to track their overall team points for a series of games they should ensure that they keep track of which defensive player starts each game for each attacking team, especially for ‘round robin’ games.
